This weekend is one of the biggest shopping weekends in UK high streets as holiday makers get ready to travel to their luxury villas. Most vacationers change their currency before they travel – Britain still uses the British pound, not the Euro – because it can be more expensive to change it in Spain. While there are ATM machines everywhere, the high cost of using a debit card dissuades many from leaving their cash in the bank.
Spanish luxury villas provide the tourist with all amenities: TV, CD, DVD player, fully equipped kitchen, bedding, towels and more. There is little for the weary traveler to bring with them but their summer clothes, sun screen, and sense of fun and adventure.
Holiday makers are encouraged to experience the true taste of Spain during their visit. This includes food that the British are not accustomed too: lightly sautéed fish with a light sauce, plenty of fresh vegetables, and of course lots of fresh fruit.
The Mediterranean diet is heavy with fresh produce, a light touch of olive oil, and the taste experience. Cook to enjoy the taste of the food, not to bury one taste with the fullness of another. Having a fully equipped kitchen will allow the chef inside to escape. Enjoy!
