Spain holidays are a great choice for an active family vacation, whether it is a walking holiday or a cycling break. The country's sunny climate and idyllic scenery makes for enjoyable outdoor activities, with particular highlights including the areas of Andalucia, Catalonia and Mallorca. Adalucia is best for active self catering holidays due to its spectacular mountain scenery and the wide array of cottage accommodations available there.
There are great walks for all fitness levels in this part of the country. A good example of a gentle walk is the 8km Llano de Ravel route that takes you to the fringes of the Pinsapo forest before it heads down to the bottom of the valley. A tougher but rewarding walk is the 14 km Secret Valley walk that leads from Grazalema to the Blackhorn Mountains, also known as the Sierra del Enddrianl, and beyond to a picturesque valley setting where you will also find the ru8ins of a farmhouse.
