ramonbaile If it is good enough for Michelle Obama, wife of American President Barak Obama, then the Costa del Sol will surely meet up to your expectations. Mrs. Obama and 40 of her closest friends, together with 70 secret service agents, is taking a five day vacation in Spain.
Staying in a 5 start hotel that has rooms costing $2,500 for one night, is really doing Spain in style. And if that's too much for your budget, you can still find luxury accommodation that is affordable as there are many top class hotels in Spain.
If you don't know what to do for fun, just monitor the media for the next few days and see what the Obama entourage does for entertainment. Where they eat, what they eat, where they shop and what they buy will all be closely watched and reported by the media.
If you want to do Spain in style, then follow what the stylish do when they are there; it's bound to be a luxurious vacation. Enjoy!

Bert K Spain is an exotic country in Europe with large geographic and cultural diversity. It shares the Iberian Peninsula with Portugal at the western end of the Mediterranean Sea. Spain is an awesome place for a great trip with its fun nightlife, long beaches, historic cities and cultural regions. The places worth visiting are Madrid, Barcelona, Cordoba, Granada, and Cadiz to name a few.
Madrid, Spain's capital city is famous for its nightlife. The architectural monuments are a treasure for Barcelona. Art and architecture is a very important aspect of Spain. Moorish palaces of Andalucía cities like Seville, Granada and Cordova are worth a mention. Renaissance cathedrals and numerous castles can be found in the cities of Castile and Leon. Beaches are one of the major attractions of Spain. Many hotels and accommodations have built up along the beaches of Costa de la Luz, Costa Brava, Costa del Sol, etc.
The people of Spain are very cordial and have an infectious enthusiasm for life which is bound to get into you if you go for a Spain trip.

With all of Europe so cheap to get to these days, Spain is still one of the most favored destinations. It would be difficult to pinpoint why Spain is so popular because there are so many great things about the country.
The weather is wonderful, the people are very friendly, especially when you attempt to speak in your broken Spanish - and they will typically answer you in English anyway. Spain has a rich history and many of the castles and fortresses from the time of the Moors still dot the landscape. If I was really pushed to describe why Spain was such a great place to visit I would say that it is because Spain is a proud country.
You can see it along the roads lined with roses as far as you can see, you can see it in the brilliant white buildings with their terracotta roof tiles, you can see it in their modern shopping centers and small village shops - still run by mom and pop with gran and granddad sitting on the front step.
Spain is an experience waiting to be explored. It doesn't matter if you are on the coast or in a large city. Relax and enjoy.

stevendepolo Bullfighting is a tradition in Spain, Portugal and other Latin countries. While supporters argue that bullfighting is a culturally important tradition, animal rights groups think that bullfighting is merely a blood sport that puts injury and suffering to the bulls and horses used in bullfighting.
Together with the World Society for the Protection of Animals (WSPA), actor/writer/producer/comedian Ricky Gervais petitions to put an end to bullfighting (a cruel sport!) and are urging travelers to ban bullfighting anywhere in the world.
Ricky Gervais said:
"It sickens me to know that people still pay money to see an animal tortured to death. Cultural heritage is no excuse for inflicting such pain on a frightened and confused animal. The bull is stabbed for around 15 minutes by spears, spikes and daggers.
It dies slowly and painfully, because when the matador sticks the final sword in, it often pierces the lungs instead of the heart, and the bulls are left drowning in their own blood. It's amazing that there are fans of this so-called 'sport' across the world."
At the WSPA website, a proposal to ban bullfighting in Catalonia, Spain is coming up for a vote. People visiting the said website can sign for the petition.
